Turbulent Magnetic Reconnection as an Acceleration Mechanism in Earth’s Magnetotail

Turbulence creates a separate population of ions that mostly exits in the dawn direction of the magnetotail and forms a high-energy power-law tail in the ion flux-energy distribution.
